Tirupur: "The Centre while devising various developmental plans should keep in mind the mandate of the people. To the contrary, if policies work against the well-being of the people, it will turn detrimental to the country" said DMDK Treasurer, Premalatha Vijayakanth at Tirupur in Sunday.
The inaugural ceremony of their party meeting to be held on Tirupur-Kangeyam road on September 15 was held today. DMDK Treasurer, Premalatha Vijayakanth and her son Vijaya Prabhakaran participated in the event.
While addressing the press, Premalatha Vijayakanth said, "The party meeting to be held on September 15 will be a major turning point for our party."
She expressed her wishes to Chief Minister, Edapadi K Palanisamy for his ongoing foreign trip. "I wish he brings more endeavours to the State", she said.
Premalatha added that DMK and other political parties are politicising the Kashmir issue, whereas the Kashmiris themselves have accepted the Centre's decision.
When asked about the speculated economic crisis, she said, "It is disheartening to see that the Centre's scheme for the development of the country is in many ways a hurdle to the development of the people. We will request the centre to review the GST."
Premalatha also extended her heartfelt wishes to TN BJP Chief, Tamilisai Soundarajan for being appointed as the Governor for Telangana. "Her appointment brings more power to women to take such high ranks in the country", she told.
